Laurenţiu Băcanu - Percussion

Graduate of Ciprian Porumbescu Conservatory Bucharest, at present is solo-timpanin the George Enescu Philarmonic Orchestra and professor of persussion at the Music University in Brasov. In the period 1970 - 1979 activated at the Studio-Radio Orchestra and Musical Comedy orchstra conducted by Sile Dinicu 1979 - 1981. Has played as instrumentist of George Enescu Philarmonic with reknown soloists and conductors as: Placido Domingo, Jose carreras, Radu Lupu, Vadim Repin, Misha Maisky, Lazar Bermann, Dmitri Bashkirov, Sergiu Celibidache, Ghenadi Rojdensvenski, Erich Bergel, Cristian Mandeal, Misha katz, Emil Tabacov, Seiji Ozawa. Is a founding member of the Romanian Brass Ensemble.

Has been distinguished with the medal of Cultural Merit class II by the Romanian president in 2004.
